The Shadow and Spiritual Side of Self

Posted by Maria Certo on Saturday, December 4, 2010

We all have a Shadow side as well as a Spiritual side to ourself.

The Shadow side is full of uncertainty, fear, temptation and incompleteness.

The Spiritual side of self is whole, truthful, loving and wise.

One cannot learn about themselves if the shadow side was non existent.

Our shadow side is the teacher to obtaining your higher Spiritual self.

The shadow of dishonesty is detrimental to one's learning.

When one lives a dishonest life, wholeness cannot be reached.

Dishonesty leads to negative behaviors of all kinds.

When we are dishonest with ourself or others, life becomes an empty void of emotional turmoil.

As one reaches for Truth, the negativity is released and an entire new life is lived.

A life filled with honesty brings love to yourself and others.

The shadow of  judgement is pompous, self righteous and fearful.

When one lives in judgement, their perceptions are altered and life is lived through a closed lens.

The Spiritual side of judgement is compassion for all things.

When one Sees with compassion, an open heart is available to be shown to all.

The Shadow of irresponsibility leads to blame, immaturity and stagnation.

The Spiritual side to irresponsibility is self sufficiency.

Self sufficiency leads to independence and self reliance.

The Shadow of addiction results in the denial of self in every aspect of life.

When you live in denial, you sell your self short of living the life that you came here for.

Nothing is gained or learned and your life becomes one of regret when the end is near.

The Spiritual side to addiction is the ability to cope with pain and face your fears.

When one faces their fears and deals with life's challenges, an awakening of who you are is brought
to your attention on a conscious level.

You begin to live life with courage and strength in everything you do.

These are just a few examples to the shadow and spiritual side of self.

Every day pay close attention to your Shadow side.

Listen clearly to what IT is telling you about the changes that need to be made to reach for your Spiritual and Higher self.

When you feel off and receive the inner knowing that something doesn't fit with your Higher Self, sit quietly in that moment and look at it.

Absorb  and process it before acting on behalf of your Shadow self.

As you work through your lower energies of your Shadow, wholeness will be achieved as you stay with the soul work that is required to eliminate this unwanted part of yourself.

The connection to the Spirit of Self will be a joyous moment to be treasured for the days ahead.
